One idea needs to appear on your website, on Xiaohongshu and on X, and each place has its own rules, so you end up writing it three times and logging in three times. This guide shows how Sourso splits one topic across three writers and how each platform’s publish step works.
The AI CMO picks the topic, the platform picks the writer
Topics come from one place: the AI CMO. Say “next Xiaohongshu note, something practical” in chat, or click a suggestion card after a collection, and it decides what to write. Who writes it depends on where it goes:
| Destination | Writer | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Web page or blog | Web writer | Long form, every number with a source |
| Xiaohongshu | Xiaohongshu writer | 300 to 800 Chinese characters, spoken register, hook in the first line, title within 20 characters, 3 to 6 topic tags, no links |
| X | Drafted to X’s limit | Under 280 characters, posted from your own browser |
The no-links rule on Xiaohongshu is not taste. The platform throttles notes that carry links. So the writer leaves them out, and if you paste one in by hand it is removed when the draft is saved.
The rules in the table are placed on the dispatch card by code when the topic is handed over. You do not repeat them, and the writer does not get to skip them.
A rewrite is a new piece, an edit is a new version
Every draft lives in the Solve list. Each save is a version, with the author recorded, whether that was a writer or you. Versions can be compared and any of them restored.
Keep two cases apart:
- Changing a few lines of a piece, or the writer changing its title, is a new version of the same piece. It is not saved separately.
- Rewriting the web article as a Xiaohongshu note is a new piece. It gets its own draft and its own version line, because it goes to another platform and will be edited on its own from here.
Numbers in a draft must have a source. A draft without one is sent back for one rewrite. If the source is still missing, the number is flagged for you to check. Nothing goes out quietly.
Xiaohongshu: an image first, then approval
A Xiaohongshu note needs at least one image. Either ask for a title card, pick one of six templates and the title is placed on it, or upload a picture of your own.
With the image in place, say “publish to Xiaohongshu”. An approval card appears in chat:
The social version on the card is read only. To change it, go back to the draft, save a new version, and ask for approval again. The account row shows the name and note you gave at connection time, not the platform nickname, so two accounts side by side are easy to tell apart.
Only after you approve does the cloud browser open Creator Center and post. The AI CMO never publishes anything without that approval.
X: you press post in your own browser
X works differently. Sourso holds no X authorisation and stores no token anywhere. Say “post to X” and it opens the X composer in your own browser with the text already filled in. You read it over and press post. If the text runs past 280 characters, shorten it in the draft first; the composer will not take more.
That step is always in your hands. It does not pass through the cloud computer and there is no approval card, because you are the one posting.
Before you start
- The Xiaohongshu account is connected in settings with a name and a note. How to connect it is in Mine your Xiaohongshu history for the next topic.
- For X, your own browser needs to be logged in to X.
- Have an image ready for Xiaohongshu, or plan to use a title card.
