The blog has forty posts and Google Search Console shows one click a week. The terms people actually type are sitting in that console, and the topic list was built by guessing. Connect the console to a workspace and those terms feed the keyword layer on their own: keywords you already have get impressions, clicks and position as evidence, new terms arrive as a card you confirm line by line, and the next post is on something somebody searched for.
Connect a search platform in Settings
Under “Websites & accounts” in Settings you can connect three search platforms:
| Platform | How | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Console | OAuth, read-only | queries with impressions, clicks and position |
| Bing Webmaster Tools | an API key | query data, plus URL submission for indexing |
| Baidu Search Resource Platform | a push token | submission only, no query data comes back |
The account is yours. You grant it to a workspace, and you can take the grant back. Click the connection’s name to rename it or add a note such as “main site, the marketing team’s GSC login”. The name follows the connection into the publish panel and the reports, so two sites connected side by side stay apart.
The first sync pulls 90 days back. On a larger site that takes a few minutes; the AI CMO says in chat when it is done.
The keyword layer fills itself
Incoming terms go one of two ways.
A term that is already a keyword gets its impressions, clicks and position attached as demand evidence. A keyword that was held because no search volume could be found now has evidence, and it is released into the tier calculation.
A term that is not a keyword yet shows up in chat as a search term confirmation card. One row per term, with the last 90 days of impressions, clicks and average position on the right. Click yes or not ours on each row, or confirm them all at once. The same batch appears on the Brand page under Topics & Questions, tagged “from search data, to confirm”. Either place works.
What is left out
Some terms never make the card, and there is nothing to configure:
- Terms containing your brand name. Someone searching your name already knows you. These are not asked to the AI platforms and they are not topics; on the Brand page their state reads “brand name, not collected”.
- Strings with search operators. site:, quotes, a minus sign. Somebody is debugging a search, not asking a question.
- Terms with too few impressions. A handful of impressions says nothing yet. They can come back once they add up.
If a term you wanted did not make it, say “add X to the keywords” in chat and a confirmation card comes back for it.
Run it again with one sentence
Say “update keywords” in chat. The AI CMO runs the same pass again: evidence on existing keywords is refreshed, and any new terms get a new card. After a batch of new posts, or once a month, one pass is enough.
One more person watching the data
The moment Google Search Console is connected, the search traffic analyst joins the team and shows up in the Watching column on the Team page. It reads the console once a day and writes a search traffic report: 28 days against the 28 before, top queries and pages, and the queries ranking 4 to 20. How to read that report is in Reading the search traffic report.
Before you start
- Verify the site in Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools first. Sourso reads what is already there; it does not verify a site for you.
- Have a few keywords in the layer. An empty layer connects fine, but with keywords in place the first sync shows straight away which topics people already search for.
- Take your time on the first card. Only confirmed keywords count toward your tier; see Climb from the tier you are on.
