切换到中文ByteDance's assistant, one of the most used AI apps in China and absent from most visibility tools.
We ask it in Chinese with web search on and record who it names. The Doubao app answers differently from the API and exposes the pool of pages it read before choosing what to cite, so we collect the app surface separately when you want that depth.
Doubao retrieves through ByteDance's own search, so the pages that search indexes are what it can cite. Content on ByteDance's platforms is naturally close at hand.
The Doubao app expands the question into keywords, reads a pool of candidate pages, then cites a few. Source can collect that pool, which shows whether your page was read and dropped, or never read at all.
For questions in Chinese it cites Chinese pages. An English-only site needs a Chinese page, with both names on it, to be a candidate at all.
Because they answer differently, and only the app exposes the pool of pages it read before citing. The API run is cheaper and daily; the app run is for when you need to know how close a page got.
